Ribs to serve 6 people (these are pork ribs)
1 bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce
1 bottle sauerkraut
salt and pepper to taste
This is quite possibly the easiest recipe ever! I salt and pepper the ribs. Then I layer these three ingredients in the crockpot (ribs, sauerkraut, BBQ sauce, ribs, sauerkraut, BBQ sauce, etc) until all ingredients are used up. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. Easy, delicious, tender ribs! You can also bake this at 350 for 1 hour covered with tin foil.
I admit I was hesitant to use sauerkraut. Don't be deceived by the smell of the jar! No one likes sauerkraut plain from the jar. For some reason it blends well with the sweetness of the BBQ sauce and provides a tangy and savory dish. It's making my mouth water just thinking about it. Also, I usually serve this with mashed potatoes and a salad. It's also nice to serve this with bread to dip in the sauce.
